EAG Annual General Meeting Monday, 9th November 2009

The Museum, Long Street

The AGM was very well attended with over 65 members present.

Following the introductory session, the EAG’s Vision and Mission statements were presented, followed by reports on the ongoing Projects, providing considerable detail for the benefit of the large numbers of new members:

· Sea Turtle Conservation Project

· Plant Conservation Project

· Livestock Reform Initiative

· Offshore Islands Conservation Project

· Body Ponds Watershed

It was reported that the accounting software was updated, but unfortunately some data was corrupted during the process by a fault in the software. Consequently, the audits will not be ready until sometime before 31 January 2010.

As a result, a motion was adopted as follows:

1) To elect two interim Board members to fill the vacancies of Mr. Oral Browne and Mr. Damien Quinland until the AGM is reconvened, at a date no later than January 31st 2010;

2) To allow the current Board to remain in office until the AGM is reconvened, and

3) The two interim Board members will also demit office but can stand for re-election.

The two interim Board members declared elected were: Ashton Williams and Carol-Faye George.

It was agreed to hold a Members Meeting on Monday 23 November 23 at 7pm at the Museum  to discuss members concerns about threats to the environment and suggestions for programs to address these concerns.

We do hope you will make an effort to contribute to the discussion and commit yourself to some activity. We look forward to seeing you!
